Learning to be Wise in Democracy through Student Association Activities at School

This research examines democratic education for school students who will become novice voters so they can make their choices wisely. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with the subjects to be researched being members of the HSU (Excellent Student Association) MA Matholi'ul Anwar. The research results show that 1) Beginner voter age means teenagers who are still very unstable in making political decisions, because it is something that is very new for them. There needs to be maturity in making decisions at the teenage years, including in terms of making political choices. Therefore, seminars and democratic practices are held so that novice voters can make their choices well; 2) participants take part in democracy seminar activities well. 3) there are factors such as lack of unity among members in these activities. In solving this problem, all members of the seminar committee (HSU members) carried out an evaluation. This research concludes that democracy seminar activities play a very important role for students who are beginner voters. So that students can determine their voting rights well and wisely
